
Sally Guerrero, Young Musicians Department Chair
Music for Young Children
Ms. Guerrero holds a Master of Arts Degree in Musicology from California State University, Los Angeles. In addition, Ms. Guerrero has extensive training and experience teaching in the field of early childhood music. She has specifically focused her training by completing several of the Level 1 and 2 Orff and Kodàly certification courses (West Chester University, Pennsylvania; The San Francisco School; California State University, Northridge; California State University, Dominguez Hills; California State University, Los Angeles.) She has studied the curricula of many of the early childhood music organizations currently found throughout the United States and Canada. Based on her extensive knowledge of the Orff and Kodàly philosophies and her study of early childhood music education, she has been actively involved in writing the curriculum used by the Conservatory.
Her career has included teaching music at the preschool and university levels, directing children's choirs and teaching elementary school classroom music. Ms. Guerrero presents workshops to music teachers locally and nationally. She has been on the faculty of the Conservatory since 1992.
